Frequently Asked Questions
Who can participate in the after-school dance program?
The program is open to elementary school students in grades K–5. No prior dance experience is required. Classes are designed to support all levels, with age-appropriate instruction and modifications when needed.
What styles of dance will my child learn?
Depending on the school’s program structure, students may focus on one style or experience a rotation of styles. Styles may include ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, or combo classes that blend two styles. Dance style selection will be made by the after school director.
What should my child wear to dance class?
Students should wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows for movement. No jeans. Hair should be pulled back, and jewelry should be kept minimal. Shoes vary by style (ballet shoes, jazz shoes, socks, or sneakers for hip-hop).







Does my child need to bring anything to class?
No materials are required. Blueprint Dance Company provides all music, instruction, and supplies. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle.
Are the classes safe and supervised?
Yes. All classes are taught by trained, professional instructors and follow school safety guidelines. Our priority is creating a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for every student.
Will there be a performance or showcase?
Some programs may include an optional in-class showcase or informal performance for families, depending on the school’s schedule and program length.
